Ankiel’s majestic slam propels Cards
Rick Ankiel’s first career grand slam was the biggest blow in the Cardinals’ 8-5 comeback win over the Reds at Busch Stadium on Friday night. With St. Louis trailing, 4-3, in the sixth inning, Ankiel cranked a 1-1 pitch from Eddie Guardado 396 feet into the left-center field stands.
