The Royals used their biggest inning of the season to bushwack the Baltimore Orioles, 10-7, on Thursday night at Camden Yards. The victory gave Kansas City a split in the four-game series.

Lester blanks Yanks with five-hitter

Jon Lester was masterful on Thursday night, pitching the first shutout by a Red Sox lefty at Yankee Stadium since 1973 as Boston rolled to a 7-0 win in the first of four games. Dustin Pedroia extended his hitting streak to 11 games.

Jenks expected to be available soon

Bobby Jenks compared the pain residing under his left scapula as something that feels like a cramp. It’s a “cramp” that has sidelined the burly closer for four days as of Thursday. But Jenks doesn’t see a trip to the disabled list in his immediate future.
